Dodge Dart then and now

Then
The Dodge Zipp, later called the Dodge Dart after the new military aircraft called the Convair F-106 Delta Dart, commonly known as the "Delta Dart" was manufactured from 1960 to 1976 by the Chrysler Corporation, was a highly popular compact car, It was conceived as a low-price compact vehicle following the 1958 economic recession, Dodge had to come up with something to compete against the growing popularity of the smaller, Volkswagen Beetle, the Ford Falcon and the AMC Rambler. The Dodge Dart also had a sister car the Plymouth Valiant. The Dart and Valiant lines were merged from two distinct models with different dimensions up to 1973, to substantially identical badge-engineered twins starting in 1974. There was also a diesel Dart (named "Barreiros Diesel") was also produced.[49] These models were very basic and very slow, and used the round taillights from the first generation Simca 1000.[50]
There was also a station wagon version, as well as variants. The Dodge Dart did stop prodduction in 1976.
Now
2013 Dodge will be bringing back the world famous Dart, it has been 37 years sense we have seen this model. Dodge has made a come back over the last few years bringing back the older models of cars like the Charger and the Challenger. Both my favorite's I must say although the Charger looks nothing like the old Charger but Dodge did a good job with the ever so popular Challenger. The 2013 Dodge Dart will be taking the place of the Caliber, a good move in my book as I work for Chrysler and this car has not been so popular. The all new Dart offers the ultimate combination of power, efficiency, technology and style. There will be five different styles to the all new Dart the SE, SXT, Rally, SRT and the Limited. If you want style and speed, you will want to go with the SRT, if it's technology your looking for, go with the limited addition. Dodge promises a nice and cheap stylish compact car to compete with other top dogs like Honda, Hyundai and Toyota just to name a few. The all new Dodge Dart does come with a state of the art interior and design with all the bells and whistles. On the other hand the the exterior of the car leaves you wanting more, when I seen the first design of the car I was impressed but this was just a concept. The real unveiling wasn't till the famous Detroit Auto Show, where the car looked nothing like the first pictures to show up at work and on the web, a little disappointing I must say. All in all not to bad of a car. I guess it will be up to you the consumer to make the choice.
